We celebrate the joy and fun of reading and sharing stories with all children and young people. We are part of the national children’s charity the Federation of Children’s Book Groups and we work within our local community to encourage children across Lincolnshire to develop their pleasure of reading and sharing stories through fiction, nonfiction, comics and poetry.

Every year we celebrate National Share-A-Story Month in May and National Non-Fiction Month in November and we are one of only 12 Testing Groups in the UK for the ‘Children’s Book Award’.

We regularly invite children’s authors and illustrators to meet our members, including schools, libraries and families.

Visit our What We Do and News & Events pages to see more about our activities and our past events.

So, if you are:

  • a parent or carer looking for ways to encourage your child to enjoy reading, or for ideas about how to widen their reading
  • a school librarian looking to inspire your students
  • a teacher or governor seeking more information about how to nurture a love of books and reading within your school
  • passionate about children’s books and reading and want to share that passion with like-minded people

Contact us at or come to one of our monthly meetings to share your interest and to learn more about what we do.

If you would like to know more about the benefits of membership visit our Get Involved page.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for hosting World Book Day’s Biggest Book Show on Earth. It was a fantastic event and I hope the children enjoyed the huge variety and talent of the authors and illustrators who were with us on the day.
Thanks again – we are very dependent on our partners to bring these events together on our behalf and I know that a lot of work goes into them.

- Kirsten Grant, Director, World Book Day
